Flores (grades 6th-8th)

Hi!  I’m Ms. Flores

Dear Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Ms. Flores and I am the

6th- 8th grade School Counselor. I am so excited to be part of the River Ridge Academy family.  I have been with the Beaufort County School District since 2007 and with River Ridge Academy since August 2018.  I feel very lucky to be part of it!

My passion for school counseling began during my time as a student at Central Connecticut State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.  I went on to earn a Master’s degree in criminal justice and also a Master of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University.  What I love most about the middle school level is their growth of social awareness.  It’s a time of major life changes and experiences.

As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students.   Middle School is a great time for students to start exploring the many opportunities their futures will hold.  I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families, and community.  I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom counseling lessons including using the South Carolina Occupational Information System, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all River Ridge Academy students.

I am here to advocate for all students. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call 843-836-4803 or email me Deanna.flores@beaufort.k12.sc.us at any time.

I am so excited to work with your children and get to know you throughout the school year.

All the best,

Ms. Flores

6th-8th Grade School Counselor
